Yoga and Ayurveda

Over vacation a couple of weeks ago, I read "Yoga and Ayurveda" by David Frawley. I can't recommend this book highly enough. It is worth buying for the first section alone. It gives a clear, pithy overview of the Vedic view of the universe. It can be challenge since there are quite a few Sanskrit words to learn, but the are really basic terms that any casual ayurvedic student should know. The book doesn't cover any specific ayurvedic treatments in detail. It lays the foundation to understanding the eight limbs of yoga and how ayurveda is connected to and derived from them. It has really changed the way I view yoga.

Welcome

For some reason, I was inspired this morning to start a blog about my experiences with Yoga and related pursuits. I'll do a proper introduction later. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. The short version is that I am a computer geek with all kinds of chronic aches, pains, and ailments. I have almost zero Yogic experience, and I thought that others may find my journey helpful.
